TOPIC 2 : GOAL SETTING

- What is goals?
In other words, goals
means desired future our dream for ourselves which have to be achieved within
time limit and control. Goals should be realistic, positive and the most
important thing is specific. Goals are also divided into two which is known as
short-term goal and long-term goal.
Short-term goal is something you want to do in short period
of time whether it is going to be tomorrow or a month from now meanwhile
long-term goal is something you want to do in a long period of time. This goal
may be achieved in another year or 10 years from now.
Example of short-term goal is read a book everyday while an
example of long-term goal is graduate from university with honors.

Goals that is related to studies or work courses.

Goals that is related to yourself and can be anything you want other
than studies.

For example : Completing e-portfolio for UED102 class.

For example : Exercising or jogging everday for at least 7 minutes.

- Five steps approach to setting goals.
1. Tentative goal statement Set a goal such as : I want to get A for financial accounting I subject.
2. List of obstacles
List out every obstacles such as : I have trouble in studying
because I have zero knowledge of accounting.
3. List of resources
List resources that could help you to achieve your goal such as : Do readings at night keep you ready for the next day.
4. Revised goal statement
For
example : I want to get A+ in financial accounting in next semester.
5. Polished goal statement
For example : I want to maintain to get A+ in financial
accounting for next semester.
